Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 15, 2026

Pingo ("we", "our", or "the app") is a personal friendship tracker that helps you remember when you last hung out with friends. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Information We Collect

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google's authentication service.

Friend data: Names, optional email addresses, phone numbers, and notes you enter about your friends. This data is stored solely to provide the app's core functionality.

Hangout logs: Dates and notes about when you spent time with friends, entered by you.

Photos: Profile photos you optionally upload for friends are stored securely on Amazon S3.

Device information: If you enable push notifications, we store your device's push notification token to send weekly reminders.

How We Use Your Information

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the United States. We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data transmission. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard bcrypt.

Third-Party Services

We do not sell, share, or provide your personal data to any advertising networks, analytics services, or data brokers.

Data Retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the Settings screen in the app, which permanently removes all your data from our servers.

Your Rights

Children's Privacy

Pingo is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email.
